Summer 2018 is right around the corner and we want you and your Air Conditioning System to be ready before all of the heat waves come, that way you can enjoy relaxing inside and outside of your home this summer.
- Check your air filters
- Keep an eye on your outdoor unit
- Make sure your ductwork is sealed
- Do NOT ignore obviously needed repairs
- Schedule your AC Inspection with Weber & Grahn
1.) Check your Air Filters
This can be one of the easiest things you can always do is check your filters. Dirty Clogged up filters can cause more damage to your system then you thought. A dirty filter will also block all the cold air coming out of your system; think of the dirty filter as a wall of dirt; the more dirt the less air will come through.
2.) Keep an Eye on your Outdoor Unit
During the season you will want to keep your unit uncovered and free from any debris. Why? well, your unit is producing cold air but it is also responsible for taking all of the heat from your home and bringing it outside. So having outside items surrounding it can cause excess issues that are not needed. Make sure that nothing is on top or directly next to the machine at all times.
3.) Make sure Ductwork is Sealed
One simple scenario, duct leakage = wasted money. And at Weber & Grahn we don’t want you to waste your money. So contact us, the professionals to seal it for you. When they’re sealed and there are no leaks it will make your AC more energy efficient and your house more comfortable
4.) Do NOT Ignore Obviously Needed Repairs
Though it may be easy to ignore most signs that your AC is in need of repairs. But not taking any action will actually cost you more in the long run. So if you smell something funky, hear a strange noise or even if the air isn’t cool enough for you. Because the LAST thing you want is to be stranded Memorial Day Weekend in the Hamptons with No A/C! Call Weber and Grahn today if there is anything suspicious you think coming from your A/C.
5.) Schedule your A/C Inspection with Weber & Grahn
At least once-twice a year you should be calling Weber & Grahn to schedule your inspections on your system. Just like your car’s oil changed, when you change it regularly your car will perform better; well it is the same thing when it comes to your HVAC equipment. We always recommend an inspection to be done in the early months of spring such as April/May before the AC is not needed.
